Way to go, Jim!!! That’s a fine letter. Do you have a follow-up plan you’d like others to follow? E.g., would you be pleased if we should print out your letter, add our name to yours, and mail it to the same address?

Please say if you have something else you would prefer that we do.

Actually, I sent this letter last June and never got a response. However, I found it posted on the internet so they must have read it. I think letter writing always help. So please consider adding your voice!

A great letter with important points. My question, was there a response to this letter (aside from denying the Sky Bridge) ?

    Thanks, Jim

  6. Gordon Gray says:

Well-stated, Jim. Thank you for representing us, and the elderly in general.
There’s a lot I don’t understand about the way Skyline’s bridge request was handled and the basis for its denial. I’ve heard that if the request were to be approved, Skyline would be required to pay annual rent on the airspace used by the bridge. That might be appropriate if the bridge were installed for private convenience only; but in my opinion where public safety can be enhanced, any rent should be waived or heavily discounted.
Also, I would think a statistician could convincingly demonstrate the likelihood of an accident or fatality at the corner of Eighth and Columbia without our needing to wait for one to actually occur!
    Cheers, Gordon
