“PEOPLE OF FAITH IN A CULTURE OF FEAR” Monday, April 6, 2015 at 3:30pm (MBR)

The Peace & Justice Committee presents the Rev. Dr. Michael Kinnamon who is the Spehar-Halligan Visiting Professor of Ecumenical Collaboration in Interreligious Dialogue at Seattle University’s School of Theology and Ministry. An ecumenical leader of world renown, he is the immediate-past General Secretary of the National Council of Churches of Christ in the USA. He has also served as General Secretary of the Consultation on Church Union and as Executive Secretary of the World Council of Churches’ Commission on Faith and Order.

Dr. Kinnamon has been a seminary professor for more than 25 years, also serving as Dean of Lexington Theological Seminary from 1988-98. He has lectured and preached on ecumenical themes across the U.S. and in numerous countries overseas, especially in India and the Middle East.

In response to an invitation from Skyline’s Peace & Justice Committee, Dr. Kinnamon is addressing a topic of considerable concern in today’s challenging post 9/11 world. He is writing a book on this topic that is scheduled to be published in 2016.  (Post submitted by Kendall Baker)
