Thinking of Dr. Seuss

Thanks to Mary Jane F. Also, do liberals care if books disappear? Is there even room for discussion?

Re “ Six Seuss Books Bore a Bias”  NYTimes column March 3

To the Editor:

I do not like the righteous Woke
I do not like them when they spoke
They speak for you
They speak for me
They know the Truth
That we don’t see
They know our deepest motivations
They know what’s best for all the nations
So when an artist, soul or poet
Is imperfect
They all know it.   Susan Teicher

1 Response to Thinking of Dr. Seuss

  1. Sylvia Peterson says:

Liberals? Woke? Better that we stick to the subject. This children’s book controversy began over the author’s foisting of racist images on his young readers. This cutesy poem is not “Information for Residents and Friends”. It advances hatred and self-dealing.

If you read yesterday’s Letters in the NYT, you also read the FIRST letter:

“….demanding that an artist’s stewards inflict xenophobic work on unwary children will hurt families and indoctrinate xenophobia in tomorrow’s citizens.

It is altogether their (Dr. Seuss Enterprises’) choice – and a good one.”
